Testing Deadline Extended

Last week, the Oregon Department of Education decided to extend the deadline to comply with the testing rule to November 1, 2020. Previously, the deadline was August 15.

The original rule reads:

“Children in grades 3, 5, 8, and 10, being taught as provided in section (4) of this rule, shall be examined no later than August 15…”

This rule change, extending the deadline to November 1,  is temporary. It is an acknowledgement and response to covid 19’s impact on all of us.

The requirement to test has not been removed. Testing is still required. But, with the extension, the pressure to comply with the testing rule has been lessened.

As many of you know, Basic Skills is offering remote and some on-site testing opportunities. Additional group opportunities will be added as we move through the summer and into the fall.

To view both opportunities, click here. Scroll down and click the appropriate tab.

For those choosing the remote testing opportunity, we’re discounting both of our practice test books. The e-book version is half off through the testing season. The discount code that enables you to get either or both books is provided once you register and pay for testing.
