Everyone Can Use a Little HELP
When I read this heading, I think sure! I can use a little help in so many areas of my life; especially with the laundry, errands, housecleaning, need I say more? Can I get an Amen? How about helping my teen do better in school so that they are ready for adulthood? Keep reading if this is you.
After working for Help Elevate Learning Processing, Inc. for over 15 years, I have experienced working with the smartest children, teens, and adults. Yes, clients who are high achievers and quite gifted still needed a little help. See what I did there? They needed a little help with academics, relationships, and simply improving what they were already doing well. However, to elevate their learning, their processing, and their talents, they came to HELP.
Yes, yes, yes! I’m going to explain. My college bound students needed to become organized in preparation for attending an out-of-state university. This meant no more mom or dad reminding them to finish and turn in their homework and no more waking them up in time to get ready for school. These high school seniors had to start adulting. As part of their program, I designed and instructed organizational related routines while retraining how their beautiful brains processed information. By the end of their program, they were ready to give college a try.
As well, many of my talented high schoolers and young adults faced anxiety and low self-esteem; asking themselves, can I do this adventure on my own? Am I smart enough? Will I make friends? ABSOLUTELY! It is my goal to instill and nurture confidence with positive results being key. Results of their success in the program helped them to believe in their ability to do well in school and in social settings.
No, no, no, this is no easy fix nor is it all HELP that helped these teens. What’s the recipe you ask? It started with their parents, their loved ones. The recipe was the parent first believing in their teen and wanting the best for them. Second, they sprinkled in some HELP: challenging exercises that improves brain processing. Finally, the teen added accomplishment. A job well done equals success. Voila! Their teen was ready to make mistakes and achieve success.
Wait? Did she say “mistakes?” Yep, I did because mistakes are proof of effort and effort is the road to achievement. Young talented and gifted athletes, musicians, artists, scientists, engineers, and calling all DREAMERS. You name it. They all need a little HELP building mental bridges to elevate their success (maybe our achievers will do the laundry too). Every successful person makes mistakes and everyone can use a little help.
Thanks for reading!
